FIREMAN feat. Lil' Wayne (Fraud Fix remix) by Fraud Fix

::NEW MUSIC::FRAUD FIX BEAT TAPE::

The time has come.   The long-awaited  Well Is Sky Mixtape is out on IAMALASER.com.  I threw together all of my latest and greatest beats for your ears.  DoubleYou from IAMALASER was gracious enough to spread the word on this project.  Download it and enjoy it.

::Were delighted to have our pal Fraud Fix create an original podcast, along with great cover art, for us of his tunes. A bundle of beats, sample cuts, layered synths and harmonic headphone noise emanating from his subconscious into your enjoyment. As we’ve said before about him (read our review of his Moontrapped album): It’s like someone took a razor blade to you favorite John Denver acoustic guitar album and spiced it up with heavy machinery, computer rhythms, and dirty warehouse bass… and we love it! Get more ofFraud Fix from Milled Pavement Records .::

VIDEO::FRAUD FIX BEAT TAPE TRAILER

I know I have been aloof lately, but it has been for very good reason. I have been working hard to get my latest project finished and off to mastering. Done and Done! Since my album dropped on 4/20 of this year, I have been working hard to produce new sounds that better represent where I am at as a composer. Moontrapped, in all it's glory was a love/hate musical struggle that overwhelmed the better part of 3 years. As a result, much of it was made through younger, older stages of my musical developement. In short, I wanted to make some fresh, FREE shit for your ear holes. So I'm ironing out the release details, but I can say with certainty that it will be a free download, its going to feature some siiiiick artwork from my good friend and co-conspirator, Jephree and it's going to drop soon. For now, enjoy this teaser trailer my good friend Miles (goes by Agona) threw together for me. Super Nice. Talk to you all soon!

FREE DOWNLOAD: Fraud Fix APPEARANCE on Sole's Nuclear Winter Remix

OK PEOPLE IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME COMING. I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO GET THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK WITH A GREAT MUSICAL INFLUENCE OF MINE, SOLE. PEEP MY REMIX OF HIS TRACK 'MY PRESIDENT' ON CIRCLEinTOSQUARE.
DOWNLOAD FREE: http://www.circleintosquare.com/item/spring-offensive-vol-1

"Spring Offensive Vol. 1 is a remix album, and an experiment in user submitted web 3.0 technology. It is also a phrase lifted from pedestrian's gmail status, which marks a new post modern high for the guerrilla rap artist sole. Many people were confused when sole droppedNuclear Winter Vol. 1 last year, and heard him making anarchy/worker anthems out of pop rap hits. A few people wanted to remix tracks, so a remix contest was opened up. The content rings as true today as it did a year ago when people exclaimed, "its too soon in Obama's presidency to criticize him." Today the American Empire crumbles all around us. The democrats show they are toothless and paralyzed, while bigots and nationalists have taken over the airwaves. HOPE is dead and the age old idiom rings true, "it doesn't matter who you vote for - the government always gets in." The world is burning, thankfully sole brought us all seitan recipes for The Last Great American Barbecue.
People donated money the first time, now sole is rich. This time you can pay for your download by sharing the remix with friends via a slick widget created by our comrades at Circle Into Square. If you enjoy this record, please send it to as many friends as possible, share it on your Facebook, tweet it up, email the link to your co-workers, its the best advertisement we have.

Fraud Fix Updates: MUSIC/CONTACTS/RELEASES

Hey guys just want to drop a quick update on what is going on in the world of Fraud Fix.

Recently (4.20.2010) I released my first LP on Milled Pavement Records' Emben Digital entitled "Moontrapped". It can be purchased through multiple distributors online. For purchasing info please visit the MP site directly and check out all the other artists featured on the label; it is quite the clusterfuck of international musical awesomeness. Some really talented dudes on there.

As a result I was fortunate enough to attract kind words from IAMALASER.COM and my buddies over at GnarlyArmy.com. Check out what they had to say and leave any feedback that you might have!

Music-Wise:
I want you all to know I am energized as hell and I'm working my ass off on some new mixes and tracks for a live set to take place hopefully soon. Nonetheless, I feel the blood flowing, and have so much new inspiration - going to release some new mixes via a mixtape with longtime friend and old flatmate Agona from the Valley. In addition, some tracks are going to be peppered online - more info to come. In the meantime, enjoy a little nugget of what is to come on my myspace player - "Islands"

Stay in touch:
I have gravitated towards facebook for most of my music-to-fan interactions but won't completely fall off the myspace boat.
Keep in touch with me many ways:

Fraud Fix on IAMALASER.COM!

In IAMALASER's words:
"Just got clued into Fraud Fix, a Los Angeles based producer and his latest releaseMootrapped that launched on Milled Pavement Records worldwide this week. Milled Pavement Records is an independent record label based out of Portland Maine with ties to the Anticon Record Label in Oakland CA.
Fraud Fix’s tracks are phenomenal. Like someone took a razor blade to you favorite John Denver acoustic guitar album and spiced it up with heavy machinery, computer rhythms, and dirty warehouse bass. I love it. There is a calm to these dreamy guitar melodies and then out of nowhere quantum dream fusions and cinematic glitch sequences appear. A welcome and innovative addition to the IDM and glitch-hop genera; but I don’t even want to peg it as that. It contains a freedom that I applaud not to mention great talent in its instrumentation. Meaning; Fraud Fix is playing them guitar parts ya’all – tight!"

Fraud Fix's Debut LP Moontrapped OUT NOW!

Fraud Fix's sound focuses on rhythm development without looping any single drum break more than twice, and a myriad of colorful melodies, key changes and crescendo’s - all of which come together to create a story through his music. A narrative exists in each beat, and you feel as if you’re in the middle of a movie...a soundtrack to someone's salvia trip. These musical elements are clearly evident in Fraud Fix's debut solo album "Moontrapped". Available today on EmBen Digital! To purchase the album [click here].

Glitch Mob answers questions about live gigs

Ripped from Create Digital Music:

"Free Single, Upcoming Album

“Drive It Like You Stole It,” the first single, is free, courtesy the band, so you can give it a listen and let us know what you think. (I am definitely pumping that track as I drive my Chevy Aveo out of the rental lot at LAX next time I’m in your town, guys. Nothing like ghetto-blasting in a crap GM rental car.) It’s just a taste of the album to come, but nicely wrangles some thickly-arrayed synth stacks and big percussion. Yes, this is American music in the triumphantly-proud Obama era.

driveitlikeyoustoleit.mp3

The band nods to the LA musical epicenter from which their work emanates. From the press release:

According to Boreta, Drink The Sea certainly reflects the pioneering, individualist spirit of their home base. “Everyone around us from the West Coast—Flying Lotus, Nosaj Thing, Daedelus, Eprom—has their own distinctive sound. We all seem to want to break boundaries, but everybody has their own lane, which is what makes it so exciting.”

They’re great, approachable guys, so I’ll be talking to them more.

I’ll be curious to hear the rest of the album, because the band seems like such an essentially live performance-based band, and it’s always tough to translate that experience. That is, it’s a challenge, but the kind of challenge worth exploring.

Behind the Scenes: Playing Together

If this were just a music blog, the story would end there, but of course the advantage we have on CDM – and the chance to go beyond our own tastes and stylistic differences as musicians – is that we’re all wrestling with the same technology. In case you’re wondering how these guys get three laptop artists playing together onstage, it’s a problem that poses its own challenges.

edIT and Boreta joined me onstage to talk about some of those challenges, and how their approach to simultaneous performance and sync have evolved. We got to look at the state of technology, warts and all. Here’s the full video (skip past the introductions for the bit where they talk about how they’ve managed to clear some technological hurdles involved with multiple people playing laptop music together):"

tears make up the river, and i dont know my name

Are we left all alone?
Mother has no time but she cares for me
and she cried all the tears
I am joining now the river flow
I am three days old
Now the time has come
You have to be man
I don't want to destroy
the only chance I have
to survive down here
The wind blows I'm so scared
and the waves so big, I'm not prepared
I will have to be strong
but for now I cry all the tears

Now enter the storm and feel electric sword
My entire life is about to burn
I am struggling, life is illusion
But I keep the dream of a better time

This secret knowledge
I receive from where I am
So precious the treasured icons
Extended to this point
Forget the ones that hurt
They all want, they struggle
They fight and try to dry their tears

We are all left on our own
We are bound yet by each others lives
Now I'm leaving this world
I will never forget the river flow

The pains and traps of life
I put my scars away and love

I have to face the truth of living
I left my boat behind
I am not taking it
Where I go I won't be crying
I die

Boreta is a favorite

Not much known about this guy, except that he is 1/3 of LA's most sophistated electro trio 'The Glitch Mob'. They are always better when you don't know much about them.

Game your Hen

Here's another one: Stuffed game hen!

What you need: 3 or 4 celery sticks, 3 or 4 carrots, acorn squash, cucumber, turkey stuffing (stovetop works), as many baby chickens as you can handle, red potatoes, butter, olive oil, seasoning (old bay, salt, pepper, cumin, red pepper), rosemary, balsamic vinegar, pure apple juice.

First, dice up carrots, cucumber, squash, onions into small squares. Sauté in pan with oil, add salt and fresh ground pepper - cook till carrots are almost soft. Add chopped rosemary.
Add breadcrumbs in pan, mix it all together.

Next, marinade hens in seasoning, olive oil, splash of balsamic vinegar, rosemary. Stuff them with your delicious veggie stuffing stoner madness. Tie up the little legs with phone cord...or string.

Place it all in a glass dish, pour in 2 cups of pure apple juice, add potatoes.

Preheat oven to 405 degrees. Place birds in the oven uncovered for 1 hour.

Enjoy with some steamed rice.

Salmon con Ziplock

Dudes and Dudettes:
Here is a favorite, simple, and BOMB dish I make every once in a while. Everyone has to take a break from red meat at some point. This dish comes in clutch when that moment occurs.

Real Simple- all you need is 1 large ziplock, 1 Atlantic salmon filet, season-all, salt, extra virgin olive oil, 1 lemon squeezed, 2 handfulls of spinach, 1/4 butter, 1-2 garlic cloves minced.
Cook Time: 30 Min

In your ziplock combined your salmon filet(s), seasoning, squeezed lemon, and a democratic amount of olive oil.

Next, you close up the zippitydodah bag, shake it all around, and store it in the fridge to marinade for about 3 hours or less.
Pull it out, put it on a flat foil bed-Pull both sides of foil up and towards the center, and create a capsule for the fish to steam (going to steam this in the oven at 350 degrees for 15 Min).

While the salmon is cooking, chop up washed spinach, minced garlic cloves, butter.

Saute garlic in pan, add butter, then spinach. Saute everything for 3 min or until the spinach is totally wilted.

Combine your bomb ass cooked salmon with steamed white rice and spinach for a great pre-drinking meal.

Drive It Like You Stole It | XLR8R

Drive It Like You Stole It | XLR8R
Taken from XLR8R's site:
"Together, edIT, Boreta, and Ooah have amassed a large number of remixes, singles, and mixtapes, but May 25 will mark the release of Drink the Sea, the debut full-length from LA's veteran blap collective. The Glitch Mob opted to drop the album on its own imprint, Glass Air, and has also given us the premiere of the album's first single, "Drive It Like You Stole It." If this track is anything, it's an anthem. Amidst a trademark head-nodding beat heavy with slap, a number of synths vie for the forefront position—like a team of buglers announcing the coming of the beat scene's heroes—before giving way to an arsenal of heavy percussion and reverberated vocal samples."

Healthcare passes, not sure if anything changes

While I and shit ton of other people sit and wait for the Senate to pass the last piece to the healthcare puzzle, I wonder if anything good will ever come of it. I'm real disappointed that the GOP is so disingenuous and misleading on the whole debate. I'm disappointed that the Democrats can't be as shameless as the Republicans sometimes. I guess that's why I'm a decline-to-state.

Dr. Douche of the House seems to have forgotten how he and his colleagues got bills passed when the entire country opposed them.
